Congratulations to Munster Girls who managed to gain promotion to the Premier Division despite the major set-back of Chloe O'Halloran's withdrawal due to illness.
While they lost first place to Bournemouth, the runner's up spot is enough to move them to the top tier next season. This sees them leap-frogging the Ulster Girls whose 5th place finish will see them relegated from the Premier.
Kerry O'Mahoney is well used to performing under pressure, but her team-mate Zofia also stepped up to the plate when the chips were down, Chloe's absence moving her up to the second spot in the team and pitting her against correspondingly higher-ranked players. With Chloe's matches forfeited for the last two matches, every win for Munster was important, and Zofia did superbly to beat Beth Richards of Wales and put up a spirited performance against Alma Varga of Bournemouth, the eventual winners of the division.
Overall, Kerry won 65% of her matches in this very tough competition, and Zofia wasn't far behind winning half of her matches, many against more experienced campaigners! Chloe of course had done so well to get them in striking distance of a Division win, with a win-rate of nearly 90% before she was forced to withdraw. This was comfortably the best of all the players in Division 1 and shows she is ready for the challenge of the top flight.
Well done girls, and also to NPC's Alan and Ben, with Izabella keeping everybody sane for the weekend!
