Junior Ranking: Sunday 16th November (Closing date Wednesday 12th November)
The second Munster Ranking event of the 2014/145 season took place in Leeside. There were almost 350 matches played on 16 tables in the Junior event.
The host club dominated proceedings, taking seven of the eight titles on offer, and coming close in the last final of the day with Alexander Ahl reaching the final of the Boys U-15 against James Kelly. Alexander was already a winner, comfortably seeing off all opposition in the Under-13s, while James was keen to make up for the loss to Alan Walsh in the U-18 final.
Chloe O'Halloran dug deep to beat Kerry O'Mahoney in the Junior Girls, doubtless spurred on by her defeat yesterday in the Seniors.
Four of the six entrants in the Girls U-15 competition were from the home club, but the most-improved player in this event must be Nora O'Sullivan, with a third place finish here adding to her sixth place in the U-18s.
Silke Heinen was a comfortable winner over Hannah Condon in the U-13 Girls.
The U-11 Boys FInal was an all-Leeside affair, Adam Buckley overcoming his younger clubmate Luke Murdoch, and Leeside took the top two places in the U-11 Girls' round robin too, Silke making it a double with Thy Li close behind.

Senior Ranking Event
The Senior Men's event was banded into three divisions and attracted a record-breaking entry of 24 players! With seven matches for each player, there were a lot of tired bodies by the end of the session, and many of them had still either a Vets of U-21 competition to follow!
(There has been some discussion about this format, with some players relishing the extra matches and others feeling that there are too many. It would be great to have some feedback from the players before the next Ranking event. E-mail with any thoughts!)
